International specialty property/casualty insurer and reinsurer Catlin Group Limited has announced that it has formed a partnership with a pair of specialist risk management consultancies to bolster the service it offers to clients with hijack, kidnap, extortion and wrongful detention exposures.

The partnership with Drum Cussac and Compass Risk Management began on 1 January 2012 and is designed, according to Peter Dobbs, head of Catlin Asset Protection in London, to ensure that Catlin’s clients benefit from high quality service wherever they operate.

Drum Cussac has developed a strong reputation for maritime protection over the last decade, with a dedicated Maritime Operations Team and a purpose-built response centre based in Poole.

Compass Risks Management specialises in preventing and resolving safely maritime piracy, kidnap and extortion, and Managing Director Leslie Edwards stated that the firm was delighted to be selected by Catlin alongside Drum Cussac.
