The Chartered Insurance Institute (CII) has awarded international specialist insurer Hiscox with Corporate Chartered Insurer status for its Hiscox London Market business.

Hiscox is amongst a small number of insurers whose senior underwriters have developed and delivered a technical programme which is available to claims and underwriting teams.

New underwriters joining Hiscox sit CII exams to ensure that their knowledge base and awareness of recent developments is up to standard.

Managing Director of Hiscox London Market Russell Merrett said that the firm had a long history of demanding professionalism from its staff.

Merrett went on to say that Hiscox was passionate about passing on its collective underwriting wisdom, adding that professionalism was a prerequisite for profitability in a competitive global market place.
