BIBA embraces “Shaping our Futures” theme

The British Insurance Brokers’ Association (BIBA) has embraced “Shaping our Futures” as its 2012 conference and exhibition theme.

The title reflects BIBA’s role in picking up the issues affecting brokers and taking the lead in driving through change in the insurance industry, with the support of its members.

A busy year ahead then, as economic uncertainty, the impact of future regulatory conditions, developments in technology and other changing risks confront the Association’s commitment to promote the value of brokers to businesses and consumers.

BIBA chief executive, Eric Galbraith, comments: “Throughout 2012, BIBA will continue to take the initiative in promoting the need for more proportionate, appropriate and cost effective regulation, while stressing the personalised and professional services available to businesses and consumers provided by BIBA members.”

He adds: “Shaping our Futures will look in depth at the pressures facing the market, while providing the networking and learning experience so valued by brokers, insurers and providers”

The 2012 event to be held at Manchester Central on 16th and 17th May, following the usual two-day format, which this year was attended by 174 exhibitors and 2,526 brokers.

Entry to both the conference and exhibition will to be free to all employees of BIBA member firms.
