Chaucer appoints business development team

Chaucer has set up a business development management team at its global energy practice, headed by newly appointed divisional underwriting manager, Gary March.

Mr March has over 25 years of underwriting and broking experience, having held positions at The Travelers Companies, Inc. and JLT Group.

The seven-strong team brings together energy and nuclear insurance expertise, including business analysis, modelling, wordings and policy administration.

According to Chaucer, it will play a key role in the development of its global energy practice, which was established in November 2010 combining the firm’s existing energy and engineering expertise, together with Nuclear Syndicate 1176.

Head of Chaucer Syndicate 1084’s global energy practice, Chris White, comments: “The launch of this new team is a key milestone in the implementation of our Foundation Flex Flagship strategy and I am extremely pleased with our progress to date.”

The strategy followed a strategic review of the business last year aimed at better positioning the firm to meet the developing needs of its markets.
