Leading specialist (re)insurance underwriting firm Canopius Group Limited has announced that it has acquired the businesses of K. Drewe Insurance Brokers Limited and Look Insurance Services Limited.

K. Drewe is a wholesale broker operating within the UK leisure industry and specialising in caravan, holiday home, park home, marine leisure and pet insurance.

Look, an appointed representative of K. Drewe, is a retail broker primarily concerned with direct leisure insurance market.

Michael Watson, Canopius chairman, has stated that the double acquisition increases the firm’s UK retail insurance distribution channels.

Watson added that the acquisitions’ respected brands and specialist expertise augmented Canopius’ capabilities in an increasingly important area of its portfolio.

K. Drewe’s chief operating officer, Roger Harvey, said that the two firms were delighted to be joining Canopius and looked forward to developing their business in the future.

Last year Canopius acquired KGM Underwriting Agencies, which was responsible for managing one of only two Lloyd’s syndicates dedicated to writing motor business.
