Liberty Mutual Insurance Europe (LMIE), a member of Liberty Mutual Group, has announced a major push into commercial lines mid-markets.

LMIE is to expand its network of UK regional offices and its range of commercial insurance products during 2011.

The firm’s primary growth focus will be the United Kingdom, but the firm also writes commercial business from its office in Dublin.

The commercial operation will be mostly concerned with corporate sector mid-market and larger SME risks, and will provide risk management, property, casualty and financial lines, risk engineering services and other specialised products.

To bolster the chances of success in this new drive, the firm has recruited a UK business development team, led by Mark Stephenson, Head of Business Development and Market Relations.

Stephenson will be supported by Neil Findley and Ian Cook, who will handle the north and south of the UK respectively.
