Kesh International Underwriters has established a new Lloyd’s coverholder to underwrite a portfolio of insurance for trucks, buses and heavy equipment, in Israel.

From 1st January 2011, the business will be written by Kesh in Israel and placed in the Lloyd’s market with Hiscox syndicate 3264, through White Oak.

The move will bring a significant single block of premium of around £18 million to the Lloyd’s market.

Kesh also provides property and third-party liability insurance in Israel, where it has a 20% market share.

The firm’s general manager, Gadi Kelman, comments: “We are close to the local market, so we can get better terms than other insurers and underwrite with more skill.”

He adds: “This is hopefully the start of a long and fruitful relationship with Lloyd’s that should see the development of more business for both Kesh and Lloyd’s.”
