Brit appoints commercial motor underwriter

International general insurance and reinsurance group Brit Insurance has announced the appointment of Gerry Ross to the UK Commercial Motor team as a commercial motor underwriter.

He leaves behind Allianz, where he started working in 2002 as a graduate trainee, to join Brit Insurance.

During his career he has occupied a range of roles, mostly in underwriting and distribution, latterly as senior motor underwriter in the London Market.

Ross will be directly responsible to UK Portfolio Manager, Motor, Andy Keane and will be tasked with the development of the account with a particular emphasis on Fleet and Haulage.

In addition, he will provide the firm’s regional underwriting offices with technical support.

Keane responded to the appointment by welcoming Ross to the firm and stating that his hiring was a reflection of the strategic value Brit placed upon the motor account.
