Beazley has announced that Rolf Tolle has been appointed as a non-executive director, and Adrian Cox as an executive director, both with effect from 6th December 2010.

In June 2010, Mr Tolle joined the board of Beazley Furlonge Ltd, the Lloyd’s managing agency which forms part of the Beazley group, having retired as franchise performance director at Lloyd’s in December 2009.

Previously, he served as chief underwriting officer of Faraday Group, General Re’s Lloyd’s insurance and reinsurance operation.

Mr Cox joined Beazley in 2001 and was appointed to the board of Beazley Furlonge Ltd and as head of the specialty lines division, in June 2008.

Last month, the specialist insurer announced that Ken Sroka, formerly head of product development at Zurich Financial Services, had been appointed to the board of Beazley plc.

Mr Sroka has extensive experience of the US property/casualty insurance market, where Beazley hopes to grow.

The firm also reported that it is on track to achieve an “excellent” result in 2010, despite increasing competition for business.
