Jelf has appointed Andy Tedstone as partnerships director, reporting directly to Phil Barton, the group’s chief executive, insurance.

In his new role, Mr Tedstone will focus on strengthening and developing relationships with affinity partners, with the aim of building relevant schemes with specialist scheme insurers.

Having joined Clarke Roxburgh in 2004 (acquired by Jelf in 2008), the new director has worked in the schemes market throughout his career and says he is keen to make Jelf one of the main players in the scheme and affinity market.

Mr Tedstone adds: “We can provide meaningful and worthwhile benefits for their members which, helps them to enhance their offering, so it’s a win, win.”

In the first-half of 2010, Jelf Group reported revenues in line with a year earlier, at £34.9 million, with some organic growth at its wealth management and employee benefits units having offset a small decline in its insurance business.

Operating profit came in at £997,000, compared with an operating loss of £429,000 in the same period of 2009.
