International general insurance and reinsurance group Brit Insurance has announced the promotion of North American Professional Indemnity Underwriter Jonathan Mudd to the post of class underwriter.

Mudd, who takes up his new role with immediate effect, first joined Brit as a graduate some seven years ago and within two years had become North American Professional Indemnity underwriter.

Whilst with the firm he has played an instrumental role in development of innovative and cutting edge technical models to service the team’s wide client range.

Six years ago Mudd helped re-form the Young Members’ Committee (YMC) of the Insurance Institute of London (IIL), and two years ago he became the YMC’s chairman.

More recently he became one of the youngest vice presidents in the history of the IIL.

In his new role Mudd will be tasked with management of the North American PI book of business (part of the global Professional Lines Division).
