Beazley has bolstered its environmental liability team with a pair of appointments, one on either side of the Atlantic Ocean.

James Wilkins and Nicholas Pearson join the firm as senior underwriters, with Wilkins based in Atlanta and Pearson moving from Philadelphia to London at the end of the year.

Wilkins previously worked in the Zurich Centre of Excellence as an environmental product line manager and brings more than a decade of extensive underwriting experience to Beazley.

He previously worked as an environmental consultant/engineer, and is a professional geologist.

Pearson joins Beazley from XL Insurance, where he underwrote fixed site environmental liability (operational and transactional), pollution and professional liability business in the US and Canada.

John Beauchamp, head of Beazley’s environmental liability focus group, has described the new members of the team as instrumental to its efforts in taking a disciplined and technical approach to environmental underwriting.
