Open GI has bolstered its Open Trader Development Team with a new appointment.

Andy Beardshaw is tasked with enhancing the delivery, quality and technical processes of the SME trading platform, which is currently used by over 500 UK brokers, to ensure the product continues to evolve.

Mr Beardshaw has a development career spanning 25 years across a number of sectors and was previously UK Development Manager for SSP’s Sirius for Insurance Platform.

His reasons for moving include a desire to get back into a “hands-on” management role rather than see development offshored.

Commenting on the appointment, Open GI development director, Richard Earle, says: “Open Trader is fast becoming the market’s leading comparative quote solution for SME business, therefore it’s vital we continue to invest in its development.”

In May, Open GI launched eBroker for Open Trader, which allows brokers to capitalise on growth in the SME market by selling commercial business to clients via the web, using the Open Trader platform.

Full web design, branding and online payment processing is included, allowing for instant purchase.
