Moorhouse Group, the Caerphilly-based commercial broker, has expanded its online insurance comparison website, Constructaquote.com, to offer cover for small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs) across a range of sectors.

The website was launched in February last year, as a one-stop-shop facility for the construction industry and originally offered comparisons for liability, van, goods in transit, plant and materials cover.

It has now been upgraded to allow a wider range of SMEs to access insurance products, such as shops and offices, pubs, hotels, fleet and retail.

Insurers on the panel include Norwich Union, Groupama, MMA, Fortis, Zurich and AXA.

The site is powered by Moorhouse’s own “quote and buy” technology, which includes a facility that allows the comparison of service levels and a side-by-side evaluation of price and policy details.

Once cover has been selected, the customer receives documentation by email in a matter of minutes.

The firm’s chairman and founder, Lyndon Wood, believes that throughout the development of Constructaquote, Moorhouse gathered valuable knowledge about Internet technology and search engine optimisation. He is keen to see this passed on to broker clients through XBroker software.

Moorhouse currently writes over £2 million of new business each month.
