Beazley Group plc has made a plethora of appointments in its upper echelons designed to bolster its capabilities.

Reinsurance division chief Neil Maidment will retain his post and add another, becoming underwriting committee chairman and active underwriter of syndicates 623 and 2623.

Maidment will therefore, in consultation with other divisional heads, will be tasked with the firm’s strategic approach to underwriting.

Jonathan Gray, property division leader, will become chairman of a new management group focusing upon Beazley’s business in the US.

The US represents over half (55%) of the organisation’s gross written premiums in the last year.

Adrian Cox is appointed to lead Specialty Lines, the firm’s largest division, taking over from Johnny Rowell, whose departure was announced in June.

Cox has had responsibility for the daily running of the division since Rowell’s appointment as underwriting committee chairman last year.

Lastly, head of Specialty Lines claims David Marock takes up the newly created post of chief operating officer of Beazley Group.

As such, he will collaborate closely with Andrew Horton, chief executive, Philippe Mazas, chief information officer, and Penny Malik, head of talent management.
