A Global Events Practice has been launched by Marsh to offer risk management and insurance for sports and events on a global basis.

The Practice is led by Warren Harper and will offer crisis management, risk management programme design and contingency planning in addition to insurance for events organising committees, sports federations and governing bodies.

Harper expressed his confidence in the two decades of sports and events experience working in his Practice and their ability to give the world-class advice that top flight events require. He went on to explain that the Practice was there to act as an extension to clients’ staff to allow the clients to focus on making outstanding sports and events.

The members of the Practice have been involved in every Olympics (winter and summer) since Calgary hosted the event in 1988, football and rugby world cups and the risk and insurance for the recent rebuilding of Wembley.

The Practice is part of the Global Sports, Entertainment and Events Practice led by Dennis Donovan, and is focused on lessening the cost of risk for sports and global events.
