Zurich Insurance has today announced publicly its latest high profile appointment, seen as part of its ongoing management reform at a senior level undertaken over the last few months, which sees Stuart Quinlan of Novae take up position.

The move today sees Stuart Quinlan appointed to the post of head of Financial Lines within the UKGI division, a post that until now did not exist and was created especially for the new appointment with the view to establishing a dedicated team to take Zurich to the forefront of the market.

Stuart Quinlan was formerly employed as an underwriting director at Novae Insurance where he was instrumental in the company’s success in nationwide financial product lines. His expertise within this field has been cited as a major attraction for his appointment, and his newly created post will be ideally suited to his core skill set.

Quinlan was also previously employed by the Royal & Sun Alliance underwriting division under the ProFin branch which saw him work to develop and nurture ongoing business relationships within that market sector with clients and brokers alike to expand the RSA portfolio.

Quinlan is expected to bring with him several of his colleagues from Novae as part of his responsibility for building a reliable, skilled financial lines department at Zurich over the coming months, which will also see a strong recruitment drive to find the right combination of skills and talents for the department.

It is hoped that the combination of high profile appointments of recent weeks will not only take Zurich to become a major player in financial lines insurance products, but also to the forefront of the general UK insurance market for business and consumer policies.

Zurich have provisionally suggested that the new team should be fully in place by early 2008 .
