Swiss Re has announced that Margo Black has assumed her new position with the firm as head of Reinsurance for Latin America South and president of Swiss Re Brasil Resseguros SA.

Swiss Re has recently been given the green light by SUSEP (Superintendence of Private Insurance) to operate as a local reinsurer in Brazil.

The status enables Swiss Re to participate fully in the Brazilian market and service a broader range of risks and clients.

Black stated that being part of the company during such an important time was a great privilege as well as a professional challenge.

Swiss Re Brasil Resseguros S.A. will primarily focus upon Life & Health; Property & Casualty and its Facultative business, and aims to increase its market share over the long term.
