Nearly one third of Brits who have trips abroad booked in the next 12 months are concerned that their travel plans could be disrupted by factors outside of their control, according to new research from Lloyds TSB.
However, while nearly two-thirds of travellers surveyed already have insurance in place for their next trip, 40% of this group don’t know whether they are covered for interruptions caused by natural disasters, severe weather conditions, tour operators going bust and the like.
Jatin Patel, director of current accounts for Lloyds TSB, comments: “Thousands of British holidaymakers have had trips abroad disrupted by unforeseen events in recent years, and clearly this is still fresh in the minds of many.”
Adding: “It is surprising to discover that so many are still not checking their policy for travel disruption cover before they take out insurance.”
