Prudential has appointed Paul Manduca as chairman, succeeding Harvey McGrath.
He will assume the position on 2nd July, having been an independent non-executive director of Prudential since October 2010 and senior independent director since January 2011.
Mr Manduca has had a long career in the international financial services industry, founding Threadneedle Asset Management in 1994, and acting as chief executive of both Rothschild Asset Management and Deutsche Asset Management.
The new role means he will step down from his position as chairman of Aon UK as soon as possible.
Tidjane Thiam, group chief executive of Prudential, says: “I am delighted that Paul has accepted the position of chairman … his talents, abilities and judgment will be great assets.”
The appointment of a new senior independent director will be announced by Prudential in due course.
