Marsh & McLennan Companies, Inc. (MMC) has announced that Guy Carpenter President and Chief Executive Officer Alexander Moczarski is to take on the additional position of Marsh & McLennan Companies International chairman.

In his new role Moczarski will be tasked with oversight of the firm’s international strategy and its country corporate officers.

Before joining Guy Carpenter last year he served as president and CEO of Marsh’s International division, covering all countries except the USA and Canada.

Moczarski, who brings more than three decades of insurance industry experience to his new role, joined Marsh in 1993 as director of planning and development for Argentina and Chile.

Six years ago he became chief executive officer of Marsh’s Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region, and four years ago he was appointed president and CEO of Marsh’s International Division.
