AXA completes acquisition of Health-on-Line

AXA UK has completed the acquisition of specialist on-line health insurance provider, Health-on-Line, which is based in Bournemouth and employs around 170 staff.

The deal will strengthen AXA PPP healthcare’s capability as a multi-channel distributor and, by leveraging Health-on-Line’s IT capability, facilitate further development of lower-cost cover, in a bid for growth.

It should also enable Health-on-Line and AXA to accelerate promotion of their lower-cost modular healthcare products for UK-based individuals and SMEs.

Commenting on the acquisition, AXA PPP healthcare chief executive, Keith Gibbs, says: “Health-on-Line, as well as being a well-run, profitable business, is closely aligned with two core areas of AXA PPP healthcare’s strategy.”

AXA PPP has been Health-on-Line’s underwriter and claims handler since 2005.
