Willis president to retire in 2012
Global insurance broker Willis Group Holdings has announced that its president, Grahame J. Millwater, is to retire from the company.
Millwater, who also serves as chairman and chief executive officer of Willis Global, joined Willis in 1985 and was made president of Willis Group three years ago.
He is to remain with the firm in 2012 and will offer consulting support in 2013 to help ensure a smooth transition.
In January Millwater’s group and business level responsibilities will be assumed by senior Willis executives Steve Hearn and Tim Wright.
Willis Group Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Joe Plumeri praised Millwater’s achievements during the decades he spent with Willis.
Plumeri said that his friendship with Millwater began 11 years ago and continues to this day.
He added that everyone at Willis felt deep gratitude for Millwater’s contribution to the firm and wished him all the best for the future.
