Towergate’s non-executive deputy chairman and founder Peter Cullum was last night named the Industry Achiever of the Year Award at the Insurance Times Awards.

Cullum, who accepted the award in front of more than 2,000 insurance professionals, thanked his present and former colleagues for their support.

Editor-in-chief of Insurance Times Ellen Bennett gave the award, and stated that Cullum had changed the insurance industry single-handedly.

Group Chief Executive Officer Mark Hodges said that there was no doubt his colleague had made a huge contribution to the industry.

Hodges went on to say that the award recognised the vision, bravery and determination exhibited by Cullum during his 40 year career, and congratulated him on his award success.
