Aviva and Legal & General have extended their distribution agreements with Barclays.

Aviva’s general insurance offering to retail customers is being complemented with life assurance and personal accident products, available on a non-advised basis.

Customers will be able to buy life assurance, over 50s life assurance and personal accident cover either in branch, online or over the telephone.

Legal & General’s existing mortgage protection distribution agreement with Barclays has been extended to provide family and mortgage life assurance and critical illness cover, on an advised basis.

L&G’s bank & building society distribution managing director, Chris Last, comments: “Barclays is a key strategic partner for us, and we have worked together for many years. So it is a great pleasure to build on our strong relationship.”

Aviva’s UK director of strategic partnerships, Ant Middle, says: “In growing our relationship with Barclays, we will provide a simple way for its customers to buy life and personal accident insurance in way that suits their individual needs.”
