Cornish Mutual bolsters IT infrastructure

South West rural insurance firm Cornish Mutual has invested almost half a million pounds in new IT infrastructure to enhance the service it provides for its members.

The firm has spent the considerable upon a new policy administration system, a telephony upgrade and enhanced IT infrastructure.

The services team and local insurance Inspectors of Cornish Mutual have been trained to use the updated systems, and three new IT professionals have been hired to help with the transition and maintain a smooth operation.

The insurer selected Redruth-based Piran Technologies Limited to improve its IT infrastructure, and, after a rigorous tender process, Transactor Global Solutions Limited was chosen to provide the new policy administration system.

Cornish Mutual Finance Director Peter Beaumont said that better technology helped the firm to track and manage incoming calls better and said that the firm had made an exciting leap in its service provision.
