The Financial Services Authority (FSA) has appointed Zitah McMillan as its new communications director.

Ms McMillan joins from the Department for Work and Pensions where she has been acting director of communications.

Previously she was marketing director and brand director at Publicis, the worldwide communications agency, working across a variety of global blue-chip brands.

Arriving in January, FSA chief executive, Hector Sants, points out that Ms McMillan joins the regulator at a time of considerable change, with the inauguration of of the Financial Conduct Authority and Prudential Regulation Authority scheduled for 2013.

He comments: “Zitah’s broad communications experience will bring considerable strength to the organisation as we take forward these priorities and those laid out in our business plan.”
