Global insurance broker Willis Group Holdings plc has announced the appointment of Tim Wright as the chief executive officer of Willis International, the business unit which caters to the firm’s retail clients around the globe outside North America, the United Kingdom and Ireland.

He joined the firm three years ago as group chief operating officer, bringing more than two decades of financial sector experience to the broker.

Willis International operates in more than 40 countries from over 100 offices in Europe, Middle East, Latin America, Asia Pacific and Africa.

Sarah Turvill, Willis International’s chairman, has led the business unit over a period of strong growth over the last decade and is to remain in her present position.

Wright will collaborate closely with Turvill, and succeeds incumbent CEO David Margrett, who has parted ways with the firm to pursue opportunities elsewhere.
