Tiger.co.uk, the car insurance comparison website, has reported that younger drivers, who have seen insurance premiums rise significantly in recent years, will be glad to hear that the cost of insurance appears to be stabilising.

Tiger Watch research, which looks at a broad range and large number of car insurance quotes, revealed that prices had actually declined by around 4% for young male drivers and 1% for young female drivers.

From July to September costs for both genders fell by around 5.5%.

The website’s commercial director described the stabilisation of car insurance prices as welcome news for all motorists.

However, motorists were advised to select insurance based not only on cost but also on the coverage and protection afforded by a specific policy.

Earlier this month the Motor Insurers’ Bureau (MIB) reported a 25% decline in the number of uninsured drivers on British roads.
