ACE has appointed two environmental risk underwriters to its London-based environmental liability team.

Robert Wade and Hayley Dixon are experienced professionals with strong scientific backgrounds and the expanded team will focus on working with brokers to develop new environmental liability programmes.

Mr Wade joins from Chartis, where he acted as an underwriter in the insurer’s environmental impairment liability department.

Prior to entering the insurance sector, he worked at URS Corporation as a senior environmental consultant, transactions and compliance.

Ms Dixon joins ACE from Conestoga-Rovers & Associates where she worked as an environmental consultant, providing scientific advice to clients and guidance on environmental legislation and standards.

Commenting on the appointments, ACE director of casualty and major risks, Phil Sharpe, says: “Environmental liability has become an increasingly important risk for UK businesses, as well as for us as an insurer.”

He adds: “Robert and Hayley’s appointments are a demonstration of ACE’s commitment to offering unmatched expertise and developing pragmatic and robust liability programmes for a complex and evolving sector.”
