XL Insurance has announced the appointment of Andrew Hookings to the post of environmental underwriter for Australia.

Hookings brings over a decade of experience to his new role, and most recently worked for XL Insurance as a client relationship manager in Sydney.

His appointment will help to address increasing demand for environmental coverage, particularly in the construction industry.

Environmental Branch Manager for XL Insurance in the UK Simon White explained that the firm’s strong presence in Australia afforded it substantial opportunities for growth, adding that clients and brokers in the region would benefit from Hookings’ experience.

Country Manager of XL Insurance Australia Craig Langham said that he was delighted for Hookings, and went on to say that there was great potential for specialist and local environmental insurance solutions in Australia.
