Friends Life has relaunched its group protection proposition.

The new offering includes group life, group income protection, group critical illness and a flexible benefit offering supported by a range of added-value services aimed at promoting health.

These include an employer/employee assistance programme, Best Doctors and a 24-hour seven-day-a-week health information service, provided by Bupa HealthLine.

The insurer’s managing director, protection, Steve Payne, says: “Protection is central to Friends Life’s strategy … we have a significant market presence, and a strong new suite of group protection products to support all of our partners effectively.”

Friends Life was launched earlier this year following the merger of Friends Provident and AXA UK business acquired by parent company, Resolution.

The company currently has over 600,000 group protection customers and 6,000 schemes in force.
