Legal & General has appointed Ian Foster to the newly created role of development director of its Workplace Savings unit.

Having previously worked for Legal & General and more recently widened his experience with Xafinity Consulting and Friends Life, Mr Foster will focus on direct enquiries from the corporate market, reporting to Helen Buchanan, the group’s Workplace Savings distribution director.

Commenting on the appointment, Ms Buchanan says: “As we see an increase in the number of direct enquiries, we want to ensure they are serviced effectively.”

She adds: “Ian’s role will ensure we are able to communicate our WorkSave propositions … we anticipate that the number of enquires is likely to increase ahead of Auto Enrolment and RDR next year.”
