Ironshore Inc. has announced its expansion to the Australian market, providing specialty insurance coverages for large, complex corporate risk, with the appointment of David Rogers as the managing director of Ironshore Australia Pty Ltd.

Rogers will be based in the firm’s Melbourne office, and will report directly to Chief Executive Officer of Ironshore International Mark Wheeler.

Ironshore Australia will underwrite a broad range of specialty commercial lines, including Property, Marine, Liability and Environmental, amongst others.

Wheeler explained that the firm would address the needs of corporates with the provision of complex risk solutions, and praised Rogers’ knowledge of Ironshore’s diverse product range.

Rogers joined the firm four years ago, working in the Chicago office as mid-west regional executive.

The expansion follows that at the start of the year, when Ironshore announced the formation of Ironshore Europe Limited, domiciled in Dublin.
