Jelf has been appointed as the approved broker for the Association of British Theatre Technicians (ABBT), its first partnership in the creative sector.

The move supports Jelf’s expansion within the affinities market and is in line with its growth strategy.

Jelf worked closely with the ABTT to develop a bespoke insurance package for their 1,700 members. The tailor made cover specifically meets the needs of the theatre professionals who often face risks that aren’t covered by off the shelf products.

Andy Tedstone, Partnerships Director (Insurance) commented on the new scheme: “We’re delighted to be working with the ABTT, and I am confident we can make a valuable contribution to the membership. By gaining a clear understanding of the unique risks often faced by theatre professionals, we have created a meaningful solution that outweighs what is currently available to most in the industry.”

Roger Fox from ABTT said of the new partnership: “We welcome Jelf’s insurance package aimed at our members’ needs, which we see as a positive development for the welfare of the theatre sector. Our membership frequently face distinct health and safety risks, providing them with the right level of cover is a valuable benefit. As a membership organisation we aim to provide our members with relevant services which support their businesses to succeed, we believe Jelf’s bespoke product achieves that objective. ”

Jelf has formed a number of successful partnerships with a wide range of organisations including, IMechE and HETAS.
