The Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS) has three new non-executive board members, following the departure of Sandy Kinney, Chris Woodburn and Terry Connor, who had completed their terms.

Liz Barclay, Jayne Nickalls and David Weymouth bring with them “a wealth of financial services and consumer experience”.

Ms Barclay is a journalist and broadcaster with extensive experience of consumer issues relating to money and finance.

She has worked for the Independent on Sunday, the BBC and Citizens Advice, and is an ambassador for the Money Advice Trust.

Ms Nickalls served as chief executive of Directgov, the official UK government website, for more than five years during which time visits to the site increased to some 30 million a month.

David Weymouth’s career spans work in operations, technology and risk management in a range of high profile organisations including RSA and Barclays, where he was chief information officer.

Since its formation in 2001, the FSCS has paid out more than £23 billion in compensation.
