International health group Bupa has announced the launch of a new iPhone app enabling people to take advantage of easy access to quality health information.

The new ‘Health Finder’ app affords free mobile access to Bupa’s award-winning health factsheets, which cover a broad range of health issues and are viewed by more than 20 million people each year.

The app also helps people search for hospitals, specialists and Bupa centres in their area, giving them more information at their fingertips should they need treatment.

Bupa policyholders can also benefit from a simple guide to the claims process, and the app is compatible with Google maps to provide the user with directions to their desired location.

Sue Moore, marketing and customer development director, Bupa Health and Wellbeing, asserted the firm’s belief that everyone deserves to have high quality health information.

In May research from Bupa revealed that the total cost to the UK of unhealthy lifestyles was £17.7bn a year, and would rise to £33bn by 2025.
