Equity Direct Broking fights fraud with Equifax

| June 16, 2011 | 0 Comments

Equity Direct Broking has announced that it has installed leading consumer risk and ID fraud system Equifax, which offers a range of verification and fraud prevention solutions.

Equity is taking advantage of the latest ID fraud solutions, utilising a number of external sources to check the ID of customers to help cut back on fraud.

Rob Tordoff, head of sales and affinity relationships at Equity Direct Broking, explained that such validity checks on ID helped ensure that affinity partners were protected against fraud without reducing the speed of application approvals and service delivery.

Tordoff added that the new system was being used by the firm’s customer fraud team, comprised of ex-military personnel well-equipped to carry out their task with subtlety and professionalism.

Earlier this week research conducted by Groupama Insurances revealed that the vast majority of brokers supported stronger penalties for fraudsters, and greater sharing of information to help combat the problem.
