Cooper Gay has restructured its UK non-marine and energy operations, creating a new International management team.

The reinsurance and specialist retail broker launched its energy division last year and the units will continue to function independently but with centralised management that should enhance customer service and drive organic growth.

Chris Butcher, chief trading officer for Cooper Gay & Co Ltd, has been appointed as managing director of both operations, and Tony Pickering becomes chairman of International.

They will work with Steve Jackson (Latin Region) and Malcolm Harvey (Europe and AAA), who will continue to support the growth of both businesses.

Commenting on the changes, Cooper Gay’s interim chief executive officer, Shaun Hooper, says: “Aligning these two highly-respected, specialist operations under one management team will not only strengthen internal effectiveness, but will also drive growth through a strategic, cohesive and customer-focused approach to international service delivery.”
