Zurich announces Hopkins’ retirement

Zurich Financial Services Group has announced that Paul N. Hopkins is to retire from the firm.

Hopkins is a veteran of the firm, and has worked there for over 33 years.

He presently occupies a seat on the Group Executive Committee (GEC), is chairman of of the Board of Farmers Group, Inc. and regional chairman of of the Americas for Zurich.

Hopkins will retire on 30 June, 2011, and will be replaced as regional chairman of the Americas by Mike Foley.

Foley will retain his present roles as a member of the Group Executive Committee and as chief executive officer of Zurich’s North America Commercial business.

Axel P. Lehmann also keeps his GEC seat and his post as group chief risk officer, in addition to taking on the additional responsibility of becoming chairman of the Board of Farmers Group, Inc.
