Howden Insurance Brokers has launched RiskSurv, a professional indemnity policy aimed at Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors’ regulated firms with a fee income of under £750,000 per annum.

Underwritten by Zurich and Barbican Syndicate 1955, the product has been developed with the needs of smaller firms and sole traders in mind and is suitable for a broad range of firms operating in the property sector including building surveyors, town planners and estate agents.

Policyholders are provided with access to the broker’s legal panel, which provides free advice on insurance related legal matters.

Commenting on the launch, Howden’s surveyors’ team leader, Emma Vigus, says: “We recognise that achieving a competitive Professional Indemnity premium is critical during challenging economic conditions and RiskSurv will always aim to deliver that; however, we also want to ensure that small surveying firms are getting access to advice from sector experts when they need it.”
