Auto Windscreens enters administration

| February 15, 2011 | 0 Comments

Auto Windscreens Limited has been placed in administration and all operations have been temporarily suspended, although joint administrators, M J Cowlishaw, D L Z Wong, and C J Farrington of Deloitte LLP hope they will resume shortly.

In the interim, customers are advised to direct queries in relation to either a previously scheduled appointment, rectification work or a new booking to their insurance company or fleet provider.

According to a BBC report, 1,100 jobs are at risk at the Chesterfield-based company, which is the UK’s second-biggest windscreen repair firm.

Cash flow problems at the company turned critical when a major customer terminated its contract and a restructuring, involving a new IT system, faltered, the BBC says.
