Chaucer has announced a new coverholder partnership, with Coastal Marine Services (CMS), to underwrite Hull and Machinery (H&M) and Protection and Indemnity (P&I) risks on behalf of Chaucer Syndicate 1084.
CMS is a newly formed marine insurance underwriting agency with a focus on smaller vessel owners.
Under the agreement, the firm will transfer its existing book of more than 400 H&M and P&I clients to the new partnership, which will be managed by Philip Graham (class underwriter for M&H and liability, Chaucer Syndicate 1084) and David Tiney (a director of CMS).
Commenting on the agreement, Mr Tiney says: “Our partnership offers the combined expertise of our two businesses together with the financial security of Lloyd’s, which will offer significant benefits to our clients.”
Chaucer Syndicate 1084 head of production, Andrew Voke, adds: “Our partnership with CMS is great news for our Marine Division and will extend our current hull and liability portfolio.”
