Europa Technologies has announced a major upgrade to its digital CRESTA zone product used by insurers and reinsurers.

CRESTA, which stands for Catastrophe Risk Evaluating and Standardising Target Accumulations, is an industry standard that helps insurance companies assess and present risk, based on a zoning system established by some of the world’s leading reinsurers.

Developed in partnership with German data company, Michael Bauer International, Europa’s new Global CRESTA Plus includes high resolution zone boundaries for a number of key countries.

It also comes with a gazetteer of over 850,000 locations pre-coded with the CRESTA zone and sub-zone, and support for place names in a number of languages, including simplified Chinese.

According to Europa, Global CRESTA Plus is ideal for international organisations that require a standard product with extensive support for localisation.
