Willis has announced that one of its captive management operations, Willis Management (Guernsey) Limited, has become the first insurance management company to have been awarded the “Chartered Insurers” title of the Chartered Insurance Institute (CII).

Firms that receive the award have to demonstrate rigorous standards of professionalism and capability, and are committed to the CII’s Code of Ethics.

Willis Management (Guernsey) managing director, Dominic Wheatley, comments: “We have always prided ourselves on being thoroughly professional in everything we do, and to receive external accreditation in this way is very gratifying.”

The firm forms part of the Willis Global Captive Practice, which services over 340 clients in all major domiciles.

In October last year, Willis Group set up a managed captive insurance facility, in Malta.

Lime Street Insurance was established to underwrite risk for entities across the European Economic Area which may have insufficient premium volume (or other reasons) for not wishing to establish their own insurance subsidiary.
