AEGON restructures Asian operations
AEGON is announcing a new organisational structure for its operations in Asia at an investor conference held today.
Under the leadership of newly-established chief executive officer AEGON Asia, Douglas Henck, all Asian-based insurance businesses will be managed as one regional division headquartered in Hong Kong.
Mr Henck has held a number of senior management positions in the insurance sector over the past twenty-five years, mostly in Asia.
The new structure aims to leverage product and distribution expertise, capture efficiencies and pursue organic growth of AEGON’s franchise in Asia.
In addition, AEGON chief executive officer, Alex Wynaendts, is outlining actions underway in the US to increase the group’s market share in the life and protection sectors.
The insurer also plans to move towards more fee-based products in the US individual savings and retirement markets, and pursue growth opportunities in the employee solutions and pensions markets.
