Barbon acquires Rentshield
Barbon Insurance Group is promising to shake up the lettings insurance market with its acquisition of Teignmouth-based Rentshield, a specialist in residential lettings cover with a customer base across the South West of England.
The move forms part of the group’s strategy of targeting companies within its core markets and managing director, Nick Sharp, comments: “Rentshield is a natural fit with our Lettings Division, which already comprises Letsure and HomeLet, both extremely successful brands.”
He continues: “Rentshield is a young, innovative and fast-growing company … it has also won local awards as a model employer in the South West, so there is a strong cultural fit between the two organisations, and we are confident that it will complement and enhance our existing products and services.”
Following completion of the transaction, Rentshield managing director, Gary Abraham, will continue in his post.
In related news, Jelf has recently launched a new offering aimed at making insurance matters simpler for landlords and others in the property sector.
The broker has developed a new range that caters for the landlord with a single property through to the managing agent with a large portfolio.
