American International Group, Inc. (AIG) has announced a pair of senior appointments, with Brian T. Schreiber named as executive vice president of Treasury and Capital Markets, and Robert Gender appointed to the posts of senior vice president and treasurer.

Schreiber’s newly created role will see him take a broad set of responsibilities overseeing the Treasury and developing AIG Markets, reporting directly to AIG Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer David Herzog.

Gender has been with the firm for over a decade, holding the post of treasurer for the last five years, and will be directly responsible to Schreiber.

AIG Finance, Risk, and Investments Executive VP Peter Hancock has said that the two appointments come at a critical juncture for the insurance giant.

Hancock praised Schrieber for the instrumental role he has played in the restructuring of AIG, and lauded Gender’s professional management of the Treasury.
