ISG launches collision alert technology

Technology that enables a vehicle to automatically alert incident managers when involved in a collision is being launched by accident management company, Incident Support Group (ISG).

ISG Sense uses impact sensors, telematics and black box technology to enable a vehicle to contact the firm, and other interested parties, when subject to impact.

In addition to providing a rapid response to a potentially serious situation, the service can also reduce costs because details can be captured immediately and the appropriate course of action taken.

The firm’s managing director, Gareth Wakefield, comments: “The speed of reporting ticks many of the boxes to comply with Ministry of Justice reforms and cost reduction.”

He adds: “By being proactive we allow an insurer to contact any non-fault parties quickly and efficiently, reducing the claim costs that might be incurred by the insurer.”

Self-insured fleet operators can also benefit from ISG Sense’s ability to measure fuel consumption, excess speed and driver behaviour.
