Cornish Mutual is expanding its member services team with the creation of six new roles.

Five team leaders and a technical trainer have been appointed to bolster levels of customer service, with the new posts split between the firm’s Truro and Exeter offices.

Existing employees, Amanda Booker, Gemma Whyle, Shirley White, and Dawn Hocking have been promoted, and are being joined by Sara Cape, who will be introducing an internal quality monitoring programme for staff coaching and training.

The new technical trainer, Peter Daniel, moves from Cornish Mutual’s Exeter office and will in future ensure that all staff working in member services meet the expected technical standards.

Commenting on the changes, member services manager, Sharon Plowright, says: “We have a high-performing team well known for its track record in handling claims in record time with maximum efficiency – we’re making sure we have the right people, with the right skills in the right place, at the right time!”

Cornish Mutual has recently taken on three new members of staff in its Personal Lines and Motor Fleet teams and has also found time to issue a warning that the current high price of lamb could lead to a rise in claims for sheep rustling.

According to the firm, a ewe going for mutton can fetch around £100 and store lambs around £60, so the company is keen to raise awareness of the issue.
